Construction of the Japanese sword

Explanation of terms:
- ha - the cutting edge of the blade of the sword,
- hamon - the line along the edge of fortitude,
- kissaki - the sharp end of the sword;
- mei - the signature of the creator of the sword, usually located on the nakago,
- mekugis ana - nakago hole through which mekugis,
- mune / mine - blunt side of Japanese sword blades,
- nakago - part of the blade, which is located in the handle,
- Shinogi ji - the flat side of the blade of the sword,
- sori - depth of curvature of the blade,
- yokote - the front part of the blade, between kissaki and the beginning of ha
- habaki - collar applied to the blade before the tsuba,
- Kashira - the end of the hilt of the sword,
- koiguchi - the beginning, opening saya,
- kojiri - the end of the saya,
- kurigata - ear on the side of saya through which sageo,
- makidome - node located at the end of the tsuka, near Kashira,
- mekugis - wood, bamboo (or made of other durable material circles) that secures the blade in the handle,
- menuki - ornamental metal parts under the braid,
- sageo - strip of silk or cotton used for attaching the saya to hakama,
- themselves - stingrays skin, which is covered with a wooden handle, is under the braid,
- saya - sheath the sword,
- seppa - metal pads placed on either side of tsuba,
- Tsuba - sword guard, usually made of metal, is located between the blade and handle, protects hands,
- tsuka - the handle of the sword,
- I - hi fuller
- nagas - the length of the blade,
- sori - curvature of the sword,
- Shinogi - back blade,
- hiraji - area between Shinogi a hamon,
- Kashira - gane hole in the tip of the sword,
